Pastoral & Wellbeing
It is very important to us that children feel happy, safe and secure at school. This is the best environment for a child to learn. We create a homely feel in the Nursery to aid a smooth transition from home to school.
We have family photos in the room, a sofa and comfy chairs for relaxing and encourage a calm and respectful atmosphere. Children are offered settling in sessions so they can get used to the new environment and staff. The staff will spend time observing, listening and talking to your child to learn all about them. We will also spend time gathering information from parents developing a good partnership between home and school.
The Nursery staff are well qualified and experienced with working with this age group and build up super relationships with each child therefore being able to adapt activities and resources to their likes and needs and noticing small changes in their behaviour.
Parents are kept in touch with how their child is doing through an online information system called Tapestry, having access to staff morning and afternoon, weekly emails about what the class have been doing, termly meetings and a written report. We are always available on email and for more regular meetings if necessary.
