Ladybirds Class (3 – 4 years)
In the Ladybirds Class the school day, during term time, is from 8.00am-3.10pm. We are open for an extended day from 7.30am-6.00pm if necessary.
Our beautiful Canterbury Nursery is a friendly and caring environment in which children take their all-important first steps in school.
We cover the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework using a topic approach.
Learning in Ladybird Class is about experimenting, investigating, discussing and playing – with great emphasis on fun. Inside, the Nursery comprises two adjoining rooms, one of which is a large, airy, beautifully-resourced playroom, and a ‘messy’ room for exploring and creating with sand, water, paint, textiles and junk materials. Outside, there is ample space in the garden for running, sports, trike riding, climbing, playing in the mud kitchen, gardening and playing on the St Edmund’s train.
Nursery day timings are flexible – children can stay for mornings until noon, stay for lunch until 1.30pm, or all day until 3.10pm. Parents can claim government funding for morning sessions. We offer a year round provision (49 weeks of the year) with early start and late stay available from 7.30am – 6pm.
Our Nursery is situated on our beautiful 2-18 school site and benefits from the whole school facilities.
